About the job
This is a client facing project management role where you will be running commercial relocation and refurbishment projects. We act for clients mainly in London and Cambridge, but also work all over the UK and occasionally in Europe. Our projects tend to range between 5,000 sqft to 50,000 sqft and are usually tendered on a Design and Build basis. You will join a successful and collaborative team, where our business is growing, and our turnover is around £950,000 in fees of which about £600,000 of that is project management. This is an important varied role, which is highly rewarding and an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys running multiple projects at any one time, all in various stages.

Project Familiarisation
- Understanding the Client requirement
- Producing bespoke fee proposals
- Producing Project Programmes
- Understanding the building and tenant fit out guides
Specifications
- Creating fit out specifications
- Creating fit out budgets
- Introducing specialist sub-consultants where required
- Producing tender packages
- Tender management and analysis
- Cost consultancy and cost negotiation with contractors
- Value engineering and maintaining the design intent
Contract Administration
- Providing supporting documents to JCT Design and Build contracts
- Liaising with Construction Lawyers
- Providing Cash Flow forecasts
- Creating Employer’s Requirements documents
- Carrying out valuations on site
- Managing variations
- Managing the snagging process
Project management and Support
- Coordinating aspects of a project outside the construction contract such as furniture, IT, security, AV, comms lines etc.
- Working with the Landlords to gain approvals
- Conducting site meetings
This Project Manager Position is an office-based role mainly based in Cambridge and is a full-time position. The role may also involve some days a week in London visiting clients for various project meetings etc. An element of home working is an option which we are prepared to discuss.
Essential Skills and Experience you will have
- Ability to work well in a dynamic and fast-paced organization and manage multiple tasks and conflicting priorities
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, and a good command of business language
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team, and on own initiative
- Demonstrate the ability to work under pressure against tight deadlines, whilst maintaining composure, and ensuring accuracy and attention to detail is not compromised
- Strong computer skills required with advanced knowledge of MS Office and the ability to adapt to new systems and contribute to their effective implementation
- Possess a strong sense of integrity with the ability to handle sensitive issues and always maintain complete confidentiality
- Ability to adapt and prioritise effectively to changing circumstances and priorities
- Demonstrable experience of working in a flexible way, with the ability and willingness to adapt to new ways of working
- Must be highly motivated and demonstrate the ability to work proactively
- Desire and ability to find cost effective solutions and improve efficiency of processes
- Ability to build effective working relationships at all levels and across all functions, including management of client relationships
- Demonstrable experience of working collaboratively across teams, functions and at all levels to achieve results and desired outcomes

- Experience of budget management would be advantageous
A relevant qualification or sufficient experience in Quantity Surveying, Project Management and Contract Administration is required.
