We were engaged by York St John University (YSJ) to project manage the Cat B fit-out on the sixth floor in the Republic Export Building, EC1. We provided aesthetic direction and fire strategy documentation, and we obtained the tenant fit-out guide and cost consulted for a negotiated contract.
We project managed the construction works within a D&B contract and supported the procurement and installation of the furniture. The fit-out was completed in March 2022. The brief was developed with the Maris design team as they were already on site, and this included requirements for a reception area, a student hub, a help desk and a dining area for students and staff, as well as classrooms, quiet study spaces and a staff touchdown area. We also added an on-floor plant room to enable sufficient fresh air and cooling, and added extra toilets to support the on-floor headcount.
